The passengers were not allowed to check in and the flight was cancelled. The passengers were rerouted to another flight departing from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Because the flight distance was 1538 kilometres and the new time of arrival was 6 hours later than the original arrival time, compensation amounts to € 400 per person.
In her letter dated 22 June 2007, transavia states that the flight was cancelled because of a technical incident with an aircraft elsewhere in the operation. On 6 April one of transavia's aircraft had been hit by a vehicle at Tenerife airport.
